Norrlandsoperan invites opera singers of all voices to audition for the 2024/2025 season and the productions L’italiana in Algeri by Gioachino Rossini and The Lovers, based on Elfriede Jelineks novel Women as Lovers.
L’italiana in Algeri
- Rehearsals start 19th August 2024; premiere 5th October; last performance 26th October.
- Language: Italian
- The parts of Zulma and Mustafà are already cast.
- For the parts of Isabella, Lindoro and Taddeo we welcome applicants of East Asian ancestry or appearance.
- The application should include a link to an aria from L’italiana in Alger or another Rossini aria.
The Lovers
- Rehearsals start 20th January 2025; premiere 8th March; last performance 29th March.
- Language: Swedish
- We welcome applicants with a curiosity for working across different vocal standards.
- The application should include a link to a recording of an aria of the applicant’s own choice, and of a song from another genre (such as musical, revue song, ballad, operetta etc.). One of them must be performed in Swedish.
The applicant should indicate which production they wish to audition for. It is possible to apply for both.
