The evening's headliner is Thea Musgraves' oboe concerto Helios, performed by German soloist Juri Vallentin, where we get to follow the Greek sun god's journey across the sky. Robert Schumann's more earthly-oriented, jubilant First Symphony, also called the "Spring Symphony", finally takes us back down to earth.
