The work is a series of reflections on various aspects of the story of Jesus\u2019 birth, but can also be seen as an ideal introduction to Messiaen\u2019s wondrous musical universe, with its mysterious harmonies, sparkling cascades of notes, and long passages inspired by birdsong. <em>Vingt Regards<\/em> was premiered by the then 20-year-old Yvonne Loriod, who would become Messiaen\u2019s most important interpreter and later also his life partner, and one can clearly see how the work\u2019s immensely virtuosic piano part was inspired by Loriod\u2019s boundless pianistic skills. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-noor-blocks-heading nb-heading nb-cursor-default nb-heading-h4 my-24 my-md-32 my-lg-48 no-bottom-line content-animation\">Jonas Olsson \u2013 Norrlandsoperan\u2019s in-house pianist<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-noor-blocks-paragraph nb-paragraph\">Jonas Olsson has a long and close relationship with Messiaen\u2019s music\u2014among other things, he studied with Pierre-Laurent Aimard, a student of Yvonne Loriod and one of the world\u2019s foremost interpreters of Messiaen. When the Lucerne Festival celebrated Messiaen\u2019s 100th anniversary in 2008, Jonas was the soloist in the grand piano concerto <em>*Des canyons aux \u00e9toiles<\/em>*. Jonas has previously performed Messiaen\u2019s works <em>*Quartet for the End of Time*<\/em> and <em>*Visions de l\u2019Amen* for <\/em>two pianos for audiences in Ume\u00e5.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<picture
