In connection with tanzmainz visiting Norrlandsoperan with Promise and Soul Chain, we offer a masterclass with the tanzmainz dancer Cornelius Mickel.
About the workshop
Mickel guides you through a contemporary warm-up followed by material that is inspired by the work with Soul Chain by tanzmainz/Sharon Eyal.
A masterclass that gives an insight and a deeper understanding of tanzmainz’s work.
About Cornelius Mickel:
Cornelius Mickel began intensive training and competition activities as a Latin and standard dancer at the age of seven. He received his dance training at the ballet schools of the Theater Pforzheim and the Theater Basel.
James Sutherland engaged him in the ballet company of Theater Pforzheim in 2007, where he danced the leading roles in many different works. In 2012 he choreographed parts of the dance evening Milestones in collaboration with James Sutherland.
With the 2012/13 season, Cornelius Mickel became an ensemble member of TanzTheaterMünster under the direction of Hans Henning Paar. There he performed in choreographies by Hans Henning Paar, Felix Landerer and Charlotta Öfverholm, among others.
With the beginning of the 2014/15 season, Cornelius Mickel became an ensemble member at the Staatstheater Mainz. Since then he has danced in the works Montréal with choreography by Danièle Desnoyers and José Navas, Plafona Now (choreography: Sharon Eyal, Gai Behar), 4 (choreography: Guy Weizman, Roni Haver), HOM – The Silence of Men (choreography: Csaba Molnár) as well as Objekt (choreography: Garry Stewart).
In the current season 2022/2023, Cornelius Mickel is on stage in Soul Chain and Promise by Sharon Eyal at Staatstheater Mainz.
