Here, we explore themes such as the environment, humanity, and visions of the future, and offer our visitors the opportunity to encounter the power of art and to experience and reflect on something new.
The White Cube at the Norrland Opera
Above the restaurant, the “White Cube” “hovers”—a joint initiative by the Norrlandsoperan and the City of Umeå dedicated to temporary and experimental art. Since its inception in 2002, hundreds of internationally renowned artists and captivating local artists have provided us with memorable experiences and prompted us to reflect on various issues. Today, there are few exhibition spaces dedicated to sound, and with the White Cube, we want above all to give listening and sound art a space of its own and the attention it so richly deserves.
