For Event Organizers

Offering music, opera, and dance to the entire Västerbotten region is a central part of Norrlandsoperan’s mission. We place a special emphasis on ensuring that children and young people have the opportunity to experience and participate in cultural activities—no matter where they are in the region. Here is a collection of information for event organizers in Västerbotten.

Organize a performance

All productions are subsidized and coordinated by Norrlandsoperan. The production comes complete with staff and technical equipment. We also provide marketing materials. The organizer is responsible for hosting the event and inviting the audience.

Our offerings are always of high quality. We make our selections based on experience, market research, and dialogue with event organizers.

School Performances

A large part of the Norrlands Opera’s activities is aimed at children and young people in preschool, elementary school, and high school, as well as at music and cultural schools.

Go for it! is a playful, intimate, and compelling dance performance in which three dancers come together in an explosive stage presentation. Drawing on street dance roots from different eras and cultures—breaking, West African dance, and swing/jazz—the performance creates a dynamic fusion of tradition, rhythm, energy, and personal stories. The performance challenges norms, breaks down stereotypes, and examines questions of identity and masculinity. Who am I allowed to be as a man?

Hialøsa – Prehistoric pop from Scania
Grades 4–9 and Upper Secondary School

The southern Swedish word “hialös” means “eager”—and that’s exactly how the music feels when Hialøsa takes the stage. With a sound all their own, inspired by traditional songs from Skåne, the group delivers spirited folk music. Hialøsa is one of the country’s most acclaimed live bands in the field of Nordic folk music. With precision and heart, they perform swing polkas, long dances, mysticism, and dreams. Their stage presence resonates deep within the audience as they deliver their musical interplay and historical truths. Simply put, it’s a Hialøsa swing!
