Beautiful Clarinet Concerto and Paintings at an Exhibition

At Umeå Music Society’s February Concert on February 15, 2026, the audience will be treated to a world premiere of Andrew Neil Pantelidis-Hermon’s composition, “un[Ravel]ing Maurice – Mouvement symphonique No. 2 for Orchestra”. Afterwards, the principal clarinetist of the Norrlandsoperan Symphony Orchestra, Tania Villasuso Couceiro, will perform Carl Maria von Weber’s very beautiful, Clarinet Concerto No. 1 in F minor, opus 73.

After the intermission, the music company Modest Mussorgsky’s Paintings will play at an exhibition arranged by Leo Funtek. Here, the audience can experience an art exhibition purely musically. Mussorsky had been inspired by an art exhibition put together by a friend of his. Six of the ten works of art have been identified.
