Based on Sámi mythology

The performance begins with a creation story from Sámi mythology where the heart of the reindeer is put into the ground and creates a rhythm that also becomes the rhythm of the earth. We get to experience the construction of a Sámi tipi which is also about the building of a community and how we need to help each other together.

The music is an electronic soundscape with elements of local joikers from Jokkmokk – the area where Liv Aira herself comes from. The performance Sjaddo wants to arouse curiosity in the audience for the Sami culture and strengthen the identity of minorities.

Sight, hearing and smell

Sjaddo is aimed at children from 6 years and up, and is a performance that the audience experiences with both sight, hearing and smell. The scent of endangered plants has been recreated and is an exciting part of the stage performance.
