Concert at the folk music festival in Burträsk

Every year, Zorn Medal auditions are held, where folk musicians can perform for a knowledgeable and expert jury. The badge is awarded in bronze, silver, and gold levels, and to earn a badge, you must perform tunes in the style of older Swedish traditions, in the style of a specific folk musician, or from a specific region of Sweden. Those awarded the silver or gold badge are called “riksspelman.”

On July 20, some of the folk musicians from Norrbotten and Västerbotten who have already earned the distinction will give a concert during the folk music festival in Burträsk.

During this atmospheric concert, we’ll hear performances by Torbjörn Näsbom, Siw Burman, Svante Lindqvist, Sandra Berggren, Fredrik Hangasjärvi, and Maria Jonsson.
