Folk Musicians at Helena Elisabeth Church

Every year, Zorn Medal auditions are held, where folk musicians can perform for a knowledgeable and expert jury. The badge is awarded in bronze, silver, and gold levels, and to earn a badge, you must perform tunes in the style of older Swedish traditions, in the style of a specific folk musician, or from a specific region of Sweden. Those awarded the silver or gold badge are called “riksspelman.”

From July 15 to 19, the performances will take place in Umeå, and in connection with that, we invite you to “Gold and Silver,” an intimate concert in the atmospheric setting of the Helena Elisabeth Church in Gammlia on July 19, featuring some of the folk musicians from Norrbotten and Västerbotten who have already earned the distinction:

Torbjörn Näsbom, Siw Burman, Svante Lindqvist, Sandra Berggren, Fredrik Hangasjärvi, and Maria Jonsson.
