Embraced by inviting music and choral singing
This concert welcomes everyone; from young to old, from the die-hard classical music lover to the curious. With Ralph Vaughan Williams’ work Folk songs of the Four Seasons , Norrlandsoperan’s chorus master Charlotte Kuisma saw an exciting opportunity to meet Norrlandsoperan’s children’s and youth choir with Norrlandsoperan’s symphony orchestra. This developed into an entire concert evening that invites you into the world of classical music, with beautiful music to enjoy and be inspired by for everyone – young and old, inexperienced and inveterate.
Icelandic conductor Bjarni Frimann leads the audience on a journey that begins with Felix Mendelssohn’s magical work A Midsummer Night’s Dream, followed by Vaughan Williams’ Folk Songs of the Four Seasons , which depicts the course of the year through a set of traditional English folk songs. The concert concludes magnificently with Jean Sibelius’s Second Symphony, which offers powerful and evocative musical landscapes.
