Nordic Regional (Net)working
Nordic Regional (Net)working is a network that was launched in 2022 by Dans i Västerbotten, Danscentrum Norr, and the Regional Dance Center of Ostrobothnia (RDÖ).

The Purpose of the Network
The goal is to create a platform for sharing experiences and fostering collaboration, both among our organizations and among the freelance dance artists, choreographers, and dance educators working in our respective regions.
We share a common reality in which many of us work in areas outside the densely populated regions of the Nordic countries. This presents specific challenges, but also unique opportunities, for artistic creation and collaboration. Through this network, we aim to highlight these perspectives, develop working methods that strengthen artistic practice, and create more opportunities for collaboration among dance professionals in the Nordic region.
Objectives
An early goal of the project was to develop residency programs in sparsely populated regions. We are exploring new formats and methods for artist residencies based on the artists’ needs and creative processes, while also seeking to build long-term, sustainable work environments and a stronger collegial network across national borders.
Nordic Regional (Net)working thus serves both as a meeting place and as a catalyst for new ideas, artistic collaborations, and shared learning within the field of dance.
