Meet the Musicians
I have been playing in the orchestra at the Norrlands Opera since 1996. Right from the start, I felt at home both in the orchestra and in Umeå. As a musician, you have to be prepared to move, and for me, that meant moving from Gothenburg to Umeå. During my many years at the Norrlands Opera, I’ve experienced the joy of playing fantastic music for the first time as a young musician, as well as what it’s like to play that same music 20 years later in an orchestra that has evolved significantly over the years.
The first Puccini opera, my early years at the new opera house, and collaborating with the choir from Cape Town Opera in South Africa are some of my most vivid memories. Playing Elektra in that massive outdoor production was also a unique experience. Another wonderful feeling is performing for happy children at a children’s concert that really hits the mark.
