Meet the Musicians
I was born and raised in Gothenburg and have been working at the Norrlands Opera since 2007.
I started playing the cello when I was 10 years old, and even then I knew I wanted to work in music. When I was 16, I tried playing the double bass, and eventually I decided that was the instrument for me.
I studied for 4.5 years at the Malmö Academy of Music, and after that I moved to Berlin and earned my concert degree at the HdK under Prof. Klaus Stoll. I lived there for 2 years.
One thing I really love about working here at the Norrlandsoperan is that I have the opportunity to perform in both opera and symphony orchestra productions. That was one of the questions I kept asking myself during my studies—opera or symphony orchestra concerts—which is more fun? Now I get to do both!
Personal
When I got a job in Umeå, I moved here and learned to appreciate the snow and skiing. I also discovered that rain comes from above and not from the side or diagonally from the front… and that you can live in the countryside and still be within biking distance of town.
