Songwriting Weekend During Fall Break

During the fall break, AC Live and Norrlandsoperan are organizing a new initiative in Lycksele, which we’ve decided to call AC Sessions. There, young musicians and songwriters will spend a few days developing their songwriting skills alongside professional music producers. The program is aimed at young people up to age 25, regardless of their level of songwriting experience. There will be opportunities both for those who want to find inspiration and get started writing music, as well as for those who already write music to take their creativity to the next level.

From Thursday, October 31, through November 2, AC Live and Norrlandsoperan are inviting young songwriters from all over Västerbotten to develop their songwriting skills. Under professional guidance, participants will gain in-depth knowledge of all aspects of songwriting—from how to get started writing music to collaborating with others—and will receive individual coaching. Participants will also learn about music rights and music distribution in the digital age.

Our Coaches

Our coaches, Tim Larsson and Frida Johansson, have extensive experience in music production across various musical genres and approaches. Tim has been writing music since the 1980s, has 600 registered works with STIM, has worked with artists such as Celine Dion and Susan Boyle, and has had songs featured in Melodifestivalen and Eurovision. In addition to her work as an artist with Kraja, Frida Johansson has composed music and created sound designs for theater (Dramaten, Orionteatern, Ögonblicksteatern, Norrbottensteatern), radio (the 2020 Christmas calendar program *Knäckarbanketten*), and video games (Unravel, Star Stable).

Registration

We aim to have a diverse group of participants with different backgrounds and skills from across the county. The deadline to register for the event is October 15. But sign up right away—we have a limited number of spots.

Participation is free of charge, and the organizers will cover participants’ travel, lodging, and meal expenses during the event. PLEASE NOTE: If you do not show up without notifying us, we will charge a fee of 250 SEK.
