Reuse and the Environment: A Common Thread

During the performance, the various “concert cans” are opened with the children’s help. Using instruments such as the saxophone, bass clarinet, vocals, and piano, Lisa & Thomas take the audience on a journey of discovery into the magical world of the “concert cans.” An old glass bottle becomes an instrument when Thomas breathes life into it, and Lisa sings a melancholy blues song about a potato that someone threw away. Why is food thrown away? Can we find new uses for discarded items? Raising awareness about reuse and the environment in a simple way is a central theme of the performance.

Through movement, singing, and the chance to influence part of the plot, the children interact throughout the performance.
