Lecture and fanzine workshop

The evening begins with a lecture by the Romanian artist Ana Kun, whose work moves between visual arts projects, activism and collective storytelling. She then leads a workshop where the participants together create a joint fanzine. When the workshop is over, the fanzine will be printed, and all participants will receive their own copy to pick up at a later date.

No prior knowledge required

Materials are available on site, but it is of course possible to bring your own pens. Drinks and light snacks are available for purchase on site.

About Ana Kun

Ana Kun, artist living and working in Timisoara, Romania. She is trained in graphics and creative writing, but her practice is broad and can include everything from visual art projects to independent publishing (zine creation), vegan communal cooking and other collaborative practices with a focus on life, care and liberation. She is part of two collectives, Balamuc and Zephyr, and several duos, most recently LuciAna, with her colleague Lucian Barbu, and a duo with professional chef Noemi Hugel with a focus on food education and politics.

In the autumn of 2025, Ana Kun has a 3-month IASPIS residency in Umeå. IASPIS collaborates with a local group in Umeå that proposes international artists and is responsible for hosting the event. The group in Umeå consists of Umeå Municipality, Umeå Art Academy, Bildmuseet Umeå, Vita Kuben, Museum Anna Nordlander and Verkligheten. During her IASPIS residency, she has continued to work on her research on food.

The workshop is carried out in collaboration with Vita kuben Norrlandsoperan and IASPIS, the Swedish Arts Grants Committee’s international programme for image and form.
