Indian Dance Workshop – Parijat Naik

Norrlandsoperan || 5 June 2026

Start at 18.00. Length: 90 minutes.

Workshop

Experience Indian culture through dance and music

Welcome to a dance workshop where you get to experience Indian culture through dance and music. This workshop gives you the opportunity to try dance techniques from Indian classical dance forms as well as movements to famous and rhythmic Bollywood songs. We work with basic footwork, artistic hand gestures and how to express yourself through movement.

During the workshop, you will learn a short choreography to a selected Bollywood song. Expect energetic movements, catchy music and an insight into Indian culture through dance – and of course a lot of joy and dancing!

The workshop is led by dancer and choreographer Parijat Naik.

Arranged in collaboration with the Ballet Academy Umeå.
