Grand concert

Norrlandsoperan presents a magnificent concert where the acclaimed artist and songwriter Lisa Miskovsky meets the Norrlandsoperan Symphony Orchestra under the direction of conductor Peter Nordahl.

Lisa Miskovsky (born 1975 in Holmsund, Sweden) is a Swedish musician and singer-songwriter with roots in Finland and the Czech Republic. She broke through in 2001 with her debut album “Lisa Miskovsky” and the single “Driving One of Your Cars”. Her second album, “Fallingwater” (2003), reached number one on the Swedish charts and featured hits such as “Lady Stardust” and “Sing to Me”. In addition to her solo career, Miskovsky has been a member of the Swedish snowboard national team, talked in the summer, written songs with Max Martin (including Backstreet Boys’ super hit Shape of My Heart), collaborated with Joakim Berg in Kent and been an expert commentator at the Olympics.

Conductor Peter Nordahl is one of Scandinavia’s most respected and versatile composers and conductors, active in concert halls, film, theatre productions and recording studios. He has collaborated with prominent artists such as Agnetha Fältskog, Håkan Hellström and Miss Li. Nordahl has also composed music for film and television, including the award-winning film “Monica Z”. In 2024, he made his debut as an opera composer with “Herr Arne’s Money”, which was performed over 40 times at Folkoperan in Stockholm.

During this long-awaited concert, the audience will experience Miskovsky’s self-composed music in new, symphonic arrangements. Her ability to combine emotional lyrics with strong melodies creates a moving and memorable experience. During the concert, Lisa will perform for the first time “Still Alive”, which she wrote as a theme song for the video game Mirror’s Edge.

Crossover concert as a concept

In a crossover concert, popular music meets symphonic music. There, at the intersection of the traditional and the contemporary, musical magic occurs. As part of its mission, Norrlandsoperan arranges these concerts to offer the audience a wide repertoire and exciting meetings.
