Together, we’ll explore songs and rhythm, listen to Swedish folk music and melodies and rhythms from all corners of the globe, and learn more about music past and present. We’ll also get to know the nyckelharpa, the Algerian mandolin, the Kurdish kupuz, and the Persian daf drum a little better—how they’re built and how they work. It’s top-notch music, plus plenty of exciting and fun stories, group singing, and clapping along to the music’s rhythms.

About Emilia & Nadin

Emilia Amper is one of Sweden’s most sought-after folk musicians, with a career that spans the globe. She has received numerous awards: In addition to winning a world championship in nyckelharpa, she has been named Artist of the Year at the Folk & World Music Gala, won the Nordic Composer Prize and a Norwegian Grammis, and been named Riksspelman.

Nadin Al Khalidi is an award-winning and charismatic musician and artist, best known as the frontwoman of the critically acclaimed and celebrated live band TARABBAND from Malmö. Born in Iraq and a resident of Sweden since 2001, Nadin Al Khalidi has led and been involved in music and theater projects focused on Arab culture and storytelling through music and text. Nadin received the awards for “Tradition Bearer of the Year” and “Best Group” (
, Tarabband) at the Folk & World Music Gala.
