From Idea to Performance

MASC is Sofia Södergård’s new work, following her acclaimed SLICK (2019).

Together with her artistic team—dancer Åsa Lundvik Gustafsson and the Norrlandsoperan workshops—Sofia, a choreographer and dancer, will premiere MASC on April 4. In an interview with her, we get to follow the artistic process behind the creation of a new work.

In addition to observing an open rehearsal, we’ll also have the opportunity afterward to participate in an open discussion about the artistic process and the journey from concept and idea to the finished performance. During the discussion, Sofia and her colleagues will also share their thoughts on the performance’s theme—violence in same-sex intimate relationships.
