Blues with a focus on female role models

Throughout history, the blues has been a style of music where male musicians have taken up the most space. But Elin Öberg and Eva-Mi Ringqvist want to change that. Through their inspiring concert performance Revolution: Blues!

On a daily basis, Elin Öberg and Eva-Mi Ringqvist play in the Stockholm-based band Among Lynx. Now they are a duo on stage, sprung from that blues band. Eva-Mi sings lead, plays guitar and percussion with her feet, while Elin plays harmonica and sings.

The concert includes both original songs and covers. The audience gets to learn more about blues and its music history. In addition, there is a great focus on the female role models that the genre has to offer, such as Big Mama Thornton, Sister Rosetta Tharpe and Memphis Minnie. All American female blues pioneers during the first half of the 20th century.
