A classical symphony that celebrates humanity
Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 is one of the most influential works in the classical repertoire.
The work begins quietly and gradually grows, and in the finale the choir joins in the setting of Friedrich Schiller’s poem An die Freude. A tribute to community, freedom and humanity.
The symphony is performed by the Norrlandsoperan Symphony Orchestra together with the High Coast Vocal Ensemble and soloists, conducted by Eduardo Strausser. Participating soloists will be announced later.
The concert also marks the end of Norrlandsoperan’s Beethoven year, where several of the composer’s works have been in focus during the season.
