Strings and thunder!

One of Sweden’s most appreciated and respected artists, meets for the first time the Norrlandsoperan Symphony Orchestra. Under the direction of conductor Erik Arvinder, Johansson’s poetic and heartfelt pop music is given a symphonic dimension.

Over the past 15 years, Jonathan Johansson has established himself as one of Sweden’s most appreciated artists. Since his debut En hand i himlen (2009), both Grammy and P3 Gold nominated, he has released eight albums, where each project deepened his highly personal expression.

After the critically acclaimed Scirocco (2020), Om Vi Får Leva (2022) followed, which earned him a Grammy for Lyricist of the Year and a sold-out tour. He also touched the audience in Så mycket bättre in 2023, and in the spring of 2024 he returned to the live stage with a new tour.

Last year was marked by the acclaimed double album Vita Skelett & Vita Pärlor, tours and festival gigs, including at Way Out West. During the autumn, Johansson met the hundred musicians in the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra for two evenings in Berwaldhallen. Now it is finally the turn of the Norrland Opera.

In a crossover concert, popular music meets symphonic music. There, at the intersection of the traditional and the contemporary, musical magic occurs. As part of its mission, Norrlandsoperan arranges these concerts to offer the audience a wide repertoire and exciting meetings. Previous artists who have met with the Norrlandsoperan Symphony Orchestra include Deportees, Katarina Barruk, Annika Norlin, Hans Ek and Lisa Miskovsky and others.
