An evolutionary journey through dance
For the first time, Danish Dance Theatre is coming to Umeå. With its eleven outstanding dancers, the company offers choreographer Adam Linder’s performance Drip Tekhne: an evolutionary journey through dance. From the emergence of simple animal-like creatures to today’s self-aware, social people. How the combination of human bodily evolution and technological development raises questions about how our physicality is shaped in an increasingly digital world. Drip Tekhne is rigorous, skillful, thought-provoking and very beautiful.
The performance was met with glowing reviews after its premiere at Skuepilhuset in Copenhagen.

About the choreographer
Adam Linder, born in 1983, is originally from Sydney, Australia, but left his home country at the age of 16 to build his dance career. With Berlin and Los Angeles as his base, he moves seamlessly between the dance and art scene with his choreographic work and has been presented by MoMa in New York as well as Sydney Dance Company and Hebbel am Ufer in Berlin. He has become known for his innovative design language and for moving freely between genres and expressions. Adam has an extensive career with a variety of choreographic works behind him. He created Drip Tekhne for Danish Dance Theatre in 2024.

Danish Dance Theatre is known for its dynamic and varied repertoire, ranging from major productions at the Royal Danish Theatre, to outdoor festivals, events and more intimate performances that challenge and inspire.
The company was founded in 1981, has its production facilities and a small stage, Takkeloftet, at the Royal Danish Theatre in Copenhagen. Danish Dance Theatre is known for its powerful and thought-provoking performances that captivate and engage audiences all over the world. Each season, the company tours throughout Denmark but also internationally. They play an important role in the development of dance, not only through their performances but also by annually organizing events and activities that promote creativity and collaboration within the dance community.
Since 2023, Danish Dance Theatre is led by choreographer Marina Mascarell.
