As part of the effort to develop the tour operations of dance productions, and to increase touring and access to dance throughout the county and for a wide audience, you as an organizer can apply for organizer support from Dans i Västerbotten. Thanks to support from the Västerbotten Region and the Swedish Arts Council, Dans i Västerbotten can compensate for some of the touring dance performances’ associated costs that arise for organizers in Västerbotten County.

You can also apply for project grants for educational dance activities such as workshops, lectures, camps, etc.

What can I apply for organizer support for?

  • For performing arts aimed at adults/children, organizer support can be applied for performances by free professional groups.
  • Organizer support CANNOT be applied for dance productions that Dans i Västerbotten includes in its tour repertoire for children and young people. (This is already subsidized)
  • Organizer support CANNOT be applied for performances from other regional theaters, Norrdans, or the Swedish National Touring Theatre. (This is already subsidized)
  • Selection: Organizers in the county’s less densely populated municipalities are prioritized in a selection situation. As we strive for distribution across the county, each organizer is granted a maximum of three applications per year.

How do I apply for organizer support?

  • Organizer support is applied for through Dans i Västerbotten and can be applied for by theater associations, children’s culture groups, children’s culture coordinators, municipalities, and other locally active organizers in Västerbotten.

  • Tour contracts or invoices with expenses and audience reporting must be attached to the application. The support can be applied for in advance.

How much can I apply for?

  • The support covers expenses for up to 5 000 SEK per performance day and 1 500 SEK for each subsequent performance day. The subsidy covers costs for the producer/company’s travel, accommodation, rental of technical equipment and allowance or part of the fee.
  • Organizer support is paid out continuously during spring and fall. The last application date for the ongoing season is December 12 and June 12. Since the grant amount is fixed, we cannot guarantee that there will be money left for performances late in the season.

For children and young people

Dans i Västerbotten distributes and subsidizes three to four tour circuits in the county per year. The dance performances are aimed at children and young people and can be played for preschools, schools and a public audience.

Project grants for educational activity

Do you want to arrange a workshop, trial or other educational activity for children, young people or adults within Västerbotten County? Then you can apply for a project grant of up to 5 000 SEK.
