Love in Bohemian Paris
A group of young artists is trying to build a life centered on art, love, and creative passion.
We meet the artist Mimì, who creates imaginative sculptures from everyday objects, and her boyfriend—the poet Rodolfo. Rodolfo’s closest friend, Marcello, creates visual installations, and his girlfriend, Musetta, is a musician.
Together with their friends Colline, Schaunard, and Parpignol, they invite everyone who shares their passion for art to this creative space. It is a gallery, a gathering place, and a home.
Puccini’s music oscillates between playfulness and deep tragedy. The new production is directed by Verena Stoiber from Germany, who returns to the Norrlandsoperan following her acclaimed 2023 production of *The Death of Klinghoffer*. In Stoiber’s *La Bohème*, the action is set in the present day, but the beloved story of the young artists is and remains timeless.
*La Bohème* is conducted by Eduardo Strausser, chief conductor of the Norrlands Opera.
