“We’ve been to previous NO events at Parken, and they’re always so incredibly good—you don’t want to miss it!”
Have you been to any performances at the Norrlandsoperan?
“No. We’ve lived in Umeå for nine years but have actually never visited the Norrlandsoperan—we really need to make sure we do that.”
What would entice you to visit?
“It’s enough if someone you know recommends something to you, or if you read about a show that sounds especially exciting.”
In that case, we’d like to recommend *The Smile of a Summer Night*, which premieres in November—it’s going to be something truly extraordinary!
“Well, that sounds like something we need to look into!”
What do you think about the Norrlandsoperan moving out to the park like this?
“That’s fantastic! You can really tell by all the people gathering here—it’s very much appreciated.”
Hi Emelie, Henning, and Assar—what brought you here today?
Henning & Assar: “Mom made us, hahaha!”
Emelie: “It’s an easy way for children to experience a symphony orchestra without ‘cooking them’ in a concert hall. If they get restless, they can move around.”
Do you usually go to the Norrlandsoperan?
Emelie: “Yes , we go to quite a few performances. We’ve taken the kids to family concerts, and I’ve seen both opera and dance at the Norrlandsoperan.”
What do you think about the Norrlands Opera moving out to the park?
Henning & Assar: “Great!”
Emelie: “That’s great! Then we can listen for a while, have some coffee and snacks, and just relax.”
Hi Petter and Jenny—what made you decide to apply to NO i Parken?
Jenny: “I keep up with what the Norrlandsoperan is doing, and this popped up in my feed.”
Do you usually go to the Norrlandsoperan?
Petter: “It happens—most recently when Jonathan Johansson performed with the Norrlandsopera Symphony Orchestra.”
Jenny: “I’m there quite a bit. I’m an associate professor of literary studies and often take my students to the Norrlandsoperan. I go to a lot of dance performances myself, and I have tickets to the opera *The Galloping Cure*—I’m really looking forward to it!”
What do you think about the Norrlands Opera moving out to the park?
Jenny: “That’s great! I understand that it’s expensive, but this is something you’d love to see every weekend during the summer. And I’d love to see the Norrlandsoperan perform in other venues around the city in different ways—that makes this kind of culture more accessible to more people.”
