Feel-Good Solo

She’s named her new feel-good solo, *Incus*, after one of those tiny bones inside our middle ear (the “städet” in Swedish). Perhaps to inspire us to listen very closely to what dance and music are built on: rhythms.

Joining her on stage are Umeå-born musician Johannes Burström, fiddler Olof Misgeld, and sound designer Elize Arvefjord. Together, they embark on a playful musical dialogue, filled with unexpected characters and twists.

Anna Öberg, choreographer and dancer

Anna Öberg is a contemporary dancer and choreographer with roots in Swedish folk dance. She was the first folk dancer ever to earn a master’s degree in choreography from the University College of Dance and Circus Arts and has also studied at the Stockholm University of the Arts. Anna Öberg explores new ways of engaging with music and the audience through her dance. She has previously appeared as a guest artist at the Norrlandsoperan with the works *Solitude* and Tracks.

Johannes Burström, musician

Johannes Burström, a native of Umeå, works as a musician and composer. He holds a master’s degree in electroacoustic music from the Royal College of Music and works with composition and sound design for theater and film. Burström plays a so-called feedback double bass—an electronically modified instrument with self-oscillating strings.

Olof Misgeld, fiddle player

Olof Misgeld studied at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm, where he is now a lecturer in folk music theory at the Department of Folk Music. As a fiddle player, he is strongly influenced by traditional playing styles and improvisation. Misgeld is a sought-after dance musician and has extensive experience as a musician in various ensembles and stage performances.
