The goal of the Bus Subsidy is to make culture more accessible to culture enthusiasts in Norrland. The grant provides financial support for bus transportation to the Norrlandsoperan’s opera and dance performances, making it possible for culture enthusiasts from Västernorrland, Jämtland, Västerbotten, and Norrbotten to experience the performing arts up close. The goal is to break down geographical and economic barriers and encourage cultural participation. Apply through our website to enjoy simple, accessible, and enriching cultural experiences.

In partnership with Norrtåg and Stora Hotellet, we’re working to encourage more visitors to choose the train when they come to see us—and to make cultural experiences more accessible to those traveling on the train line from Vindeln, Vännäs, and Örnsköldsvik to Umeå.

Come visit the Norrlandsoperan and enjoy an opera, a dance performance, or a concert with the Norrlandsoperan Symphony Orchestra. If you have a library card in the Umeå region, you can borrow the Norrlandsoperan Card, which allows you to pick up two tickets to the Norrlandsoperan.

Discounted tickets to Norrlandsoperan’s own performances
0–2 years
Young children sitting on an adult’s lap are admitted free of charge and do not need their own ticket. Please note that this does not apply to performances specifically aimed at this age group.
Up to and including age 18
Children and teens pay 80–100 SEK for a ticket; this applies to family performances, opera, dance, and concerts featuring the Norrlandsoperan Symphony Orchestra.
Ages 19–26
Young people between the ages of 19 and 26 receive a 50% discount on regular prices for opera, dance, and concerts featuring the Norrlandsoperan Symphony Orchestra.
Student
Students receive a 50% discount off the regular price for opera, dance, and concerts featuring the Norrlandsoperan Symphony Orchestra.
Retirees
The discount is available to both old-age pensioners and disability pensioners, with a general 10% reduction on the regular price, and applies to opera, dance, and concerts featuring the Norrlandsoperan Symphony Orchestra.
Groups of more than ten people
For group reservations of more than 10 people, please contact customer service. Groups always receive a 10% discount off the regular price, valid for opera, dance, and concerts featuring the Norrlandsoperan Symphony Orchestra.
Scenpass Sweden
Scenpass Sverige cardholders receive a 10% discount off the regular price. Scenpass Sverige covers opera, concerts featuring the Norrlandsoperan Symphony Orchestra, and dance performances.
