Filmen är baserad på fakta från de danska järnvägarnas historia och är inspelad på olika platser i Danmark bl.a. en före detta järnvägsarbetares bostad, de kungliga vänthallarna på Centralstationen i Köpenhamn samt i en dressin från 1930-talet. I Astrup och Bordorffs arbete blir de nationella järnvägarna en metafor för hur Danmark och förhållandet mellan individen och det kommunala nu förändras i grunden.
I filmen presenteras vi för en rad karaktärer: tågpassagerare, järnvägsarbetare, tre byggnadsmagnater, en författare och en drottning. Varje perspektiv säger oss något om erosionen av kollektivet
Kirsten Astrup har komponerat musiken och Maria Bordorff har skrivit texterna. I äkta kabaréstil är låtarna gjorda i olika genrer – en påminner om den danska 1980-talspop, en annan om spagettiwesterns, medan en tredje lätt kunde ha varit en mainstreamhit. Sommaren 2018 sattes Quivery heart upp som livekabaré på Roskilde Festivals Gloria-scen. Musiken från filmen är släppt som LP..
Quivery heart is the second chapter in a film trilogy about the Danish welfare society and the loss of common values. The film is based on research into the history of the Danish railways and shot on various locations across Denmark, including an excursion wagon from the 1930s, a former railroad worker’s home, and the royal waiting halls at the Central Station in Copenhagen. In Astrup and Bordorffs work, the national railways become a metaphor for the ways in which Denmark and the relationship between the individual and the communal is fundamentally changing at the moment. In the film, we are presented to a range of characters: train passengers, railway workers, three building tycoons, a writer, and a queen. Each perspective tells us something about the erosion of the collective.
Kirsten Astrup has composed the music and Maria Bordorff has written the texts. In true cabaret style, the songs are done in different genres – one is reminiscent of Danish 1980s pop, another of spaghetti westerns, while a third might easily have been a mainstream hit.In the summer of 2018, Quivery heart was staged as live performance cabaret at Roskilde Festival’s Gloria stage. The music from the film is released as LP.
