Från klarhet till klarhet – poetisk luftakrobatik mellan husfasader
Föreställ dig att du vänder blicken uppåt och ser dansare röra sig mellan huskropparna i centrala Umeå. Denna scen blir snart verklighet, då Cie Retouramont gästar Re-think. Det parisiska kompaniet är pionjärer inom det som kallas vertikal dans, det vill säga dans på höjden. Under konstnärlig ledning av Fabrice Guillot – koreograf med en passion för bergsklättring – har man fått människor världen över att gapa mot skyarna. Med hjälp av linor och selar tar de fasader och luftrum i besittning och förvandlar såväl klassiska byggnadsverk som moderna landmärken till spelplatser för sin poetiska och spektakulära danskonst. Verket Clairière Urbaine är en dialog mellan den lilla människan och det stora stadsrummet. Här ser vi en slags rörlig skulptur skapas i realtid genom en stämningsfull lek med arkitekturen och naturlagarna.

Verket har ursprungligen producerats i samarbete med flera franska partners: Théâtre de Lorient, staden Port-Louis, staden Hennebont, La cigalière i Sérignan i Bédarieux, Cachanteatern i Paris, landstinget i Val de Marn och landstinget i Essonne. Clairière Urbaine with Cie Retouramont
Finding poetic clarity through aerial acrobatics between city architecture.
Imagine turning your gaze upwards and seeing dancers moving between the buildings in central Umeå. This scene is soon to become a reality, as Cie Retouramont visits the Re-Think Festival. The Parisian company is a pioneer in what is known as vertical dance, or, in other words, dance performed at height. Under the artistic direction of Fabrice Guillot – a choreographer with a passion for mountaineering – people around the world have been left gasping at the skies.
With the help of ropes and harnesses, the performers take possession of facades and spaces and transform both classical buildings and modern landmarks into venues for their poetic and spectacular dance art. Clairière Urbaine is a dialogue between the individual and monumental urban spaces. Here we witness a form of moving sculpture, created in real time through an atmospheric interpretation of architecture and the very laws of nature.

This work was originally produced in collaboration with several French partners: Théâtre de Lorient, the city of Port-Louis, the city of Hennebont, La cigalière in Sérignan, Bédarieux, the Cachanteatern in Paris, the county council in Val de Marn and the county council in Essonne.
