Attitudes är ett 30-månader långt EU-projekt med sex olika parter inom Europa där Norrlandsoperan agerar som ledande partner. Projektet som påbörjades under hösten 2023 syftar till att erbjuda en stabil plattform för konstnärlig skapelse, internationellt utbyte för hållbar produktion och miljövänligt turnerande, kombinerat med mentorskap för talangfulla hiphopartister för att möjliggöra internationella samarbeten.
Projektet drivs av sex stycken partners som är professionella organisationer med en bred erfarenhet av samarbeten inom hiphopdans och scenkonst. Utöver Norrlandsoperan som projektägare så ingår Dansekapellet i Danmark, Kampnagel i Tyskland, hiphopdansfestivalerna HOP i Spanien och Summer Dance Forever i Nederländerna samt koreografiska centret CCNRB i Frankrike. Attitudes ska resultera i sex samproduktioner för scen och alternativa platser för framträdanden på 25 olika turnéplatser i sex länder.
Under projektets gång kommer medverkande möta potentiella nationella och internationella samarbetspartners. Under mer än 150 workshops, 30 rundabordssamtal, 28 residens, 6 samproduktioner, inklusive battles och jams, kommer erfarna hiphopdansare såväl som unga och mångfaldig publik att samlas för att bygga färdigheter, skapa starkare gemenskaper och uppleva dansens glädje.
Attitudes tillämpar hiphopsamhällets princip ”Each one teach one” (alla i samhället tar ansvar för att dela kunskap) på kapacitetsuppbyggnadsaktiviteterna: dansartister, kulturarbetare, publik är alla anslutna och drar nytta av delade färdigheter och erfarenheter.

Attitudes is a capacity building and co-creation project in the field of hip hop dance. Attitudes provides a stable platform for artistic creation, international exchange for sustainable production and greener touring, combined with mentoring to talented hip hop artists to enable them for international collaborations. Attitudes offers a wide range of activities to young and diverse audiences to experience the benefits of hip hop dance. Attitudes raises awareness of the potential and challenges for hip hop dance artists and communities among performing arts organisations, funders and policymakers in the participating European countries. Attitudes aims to create and test models for inclusive work processes in artistic curating and communication strategies by engaging artists from the hip hop communities in the decision making.
The consortium of six partners are professional organisations with a broad variety of experiences from collaborations in hip hop dance and performing arts: venues/ production houses in Sweden and Germany, hip hop festivals in Spain and The Netherlands, a choreographic centre/hip hop collective in France and a cultural centre/venue in Denmark.
Attitudes will result in 6 co-productions for stage and alternative spaces gathering young and diverse audiences at 25 different touring locations in 6 countries. The involved artists will encounter potential national and international collaborators. During more than 150 workshops, 30 round tables, 28 residencies, including sharing’s in battles and jams,
experienced hip hop dance artists as well as young and diverse audiences will gather to build skills, create stronger communities and to experience the joy of dance.
Attitudes applies the hip hop community principle of Each one teach one (everyone in the community takes responsibility to share knowledge) on the capacity building activities: artists, cultural workers, audiences all are connected and profit from shared skills and experiences.
